How to Wear: Nature Prints

Moving on from floral patterns we now have full on nature prints! Leaves, flowers and even bugs, appear in prints that are photographic based and give a much needed view towards Summer!

Here's a few ideas of how to wear: (All high street prices as always!)

Trend: The Co-Ordinating Bralet

This look is based on combining the print and bralet trends.  It involves wearing a matching bralet to your short/trouser/skirt, in a 50's twin set sort of way.  It also shows a bit of stomach!

More high fashion than everyday but a great look if you've got the guts...or gut ...literally!

Here's some of the best high street looks:

Red Hawaii print, Asos Bralet £25/Shorts £25
Floral print, Kelly Brook @ New Look Bralet £25/Shorts £23
Pastel gingham print, Asos Bralet £25/Trousers £30

Mono bird print, Topshop Bralet £26/Skirt £34
Tropical print, River Island Bralet £28/Trousers £40
Motel pastel print, Topshop Bralet £25/Pencil skirt £34
Lilac stripe, Topshop Bralet £25/Shorts £32
Do you have the gut(s)?

Trend: GB Frenzy!

With the Queens Diamond Jubilee fast approaching and the Olympics looming over the Summer, the shops have gone GB mad!

Cute patriotic teapots, commemorative shortbread tins and reams of bunting, the high street is buzzing with a patriotic theme.  Unfortunately these cute items also come hand in hand with an overkill of full-on flag print fashion! Even the Geri Halliwell Union Jack dress has been reborn - you can see her modelling the dress and her range at Next here: http://www.next.co.uk/g3778s3#833497g37 (This time with sequins - cringe!)

A union jack T can still look cute with denim hotpants and wedges - no denying that.  But heres some ideas for something a bit different:

House of Holland tights, Asos £15
Shopper bag, Accessorize £22
Cath Kidson necklace, Asos £16
Wooden bunting, Debenhams £15

Flag, Accessorize £3.50
Chunky ring, Accessorize £6
Nail tattoos, Superdrug £2
Cath Kidson illustrated bag, Asos £28

Brooch set, Debenhams £6
Crown T-shirt, Debenhams £20
Clutch with buttons, Next £28
Big Ben necklace, Accessorize £6
Eat scones, drink Pimms and be merry!
Enjoy the long Weekend!

Trend: Sports Lux

The country is buzzing with Olympic news and images of the athletes, and with Stella McCartney designing the Team GB kit, it's only right that fashion and sports collide to make a trend - Sports Lux is born.

This trend is sportswear mixed with body con pieces, with some pastels, some metallics and a dash of neon.  Also expect to see cut out and mesh detailing.  It's a real mix with a sporty look, but stlyed right can look amazing! In my opinion Sports lux needs to be worn head to toe to work, so if you're going to wear it you really have to go for it!

Here are some key pieces to start you off:

Blue vest, River Island £30
Silver Jacket, Topshop £30
Bodycon coral dress, River Island £28

How to wear: Marvelous Metallics!

As mentioned before here on AoT, metallics are big this season, giving Summer a different glam edge.  However this is definately not a trend you want to wear head to toe - a robot/spaceman look is not what you want!  So here's some ideas on how to wear and work with other trends.

How to wear: Fantastic Florals!

Florals are a great trend, and they're easy to wear at the moment as there's so much variation out there.  But when it comes to mixing floral prints it can be a bit daunting! But to be honest, clashing prints or choosing complimentary prints - it all works, it's all down to your preference.

Here's some outfit ideas (all high street of course!):
