Trend: Collar Jewellery

Collars are big!

Trend: The Co-Ordinating Bralet

This look is based on combining the print and bralet trends.  It involves wearing a matching bralet to your short/trouser/skirt, in a 50's twin set sort of way.  It also shows a bit of stomach!

Trend: Denim is back!

The 80's and 90's were a blur of high waisted jeans, flares and denim jackets, and now we've had the 00's to recover - denim is back!

Obviously jeans are always worn: trend of the moment being skinny and usually coloured!  But there's a great range of light denim in stores for Summer.  Fitting in with the prairie theme there's soft versions of waistcoats, jackets and even dresses and skirts, bringing denim a feminine edge. There's also a more Rock vibe coming through, with studs and rips for your inner rock goddess.

Trend: Sports Lux

The country is buzzing with Olympic news and images of the athletes, and with Stella McCartney designing the Team GB kit, it's only right that fashion and sports collide to make a trend - Sports Lux is born. 

This trend is sportswear mixed with body con pieces, with some pastels, some metallics and a dash of neon.  Also expect to see cut out and mesh detailing.  It's a real mix with a sporty look, but stlyed right can look amazing! In my opinion Sports lux needs to be worn head to toe to work, so if you're going to wear it you really have to go for it!

As mentioned before here on AoT, metallics are big this season, giving Summer a different glam edge.  However this is definately not a trend you want to wear head to toe - a robot/spaceman look is not what you want!  So here's some ideas on how to wear and work with other trends.

Pastels can seem a little girly, but don't just think pink! This spring is bursting with a rainbow of ice cream pastel colours!

Friday Fashion: Outfit update - a glimpse of Coral

Update your Friday outfit with a bit of Coral. 

Coral is a big colour this spring, it was in stores over winter and it's carrying on into this year.  (Trend Colour story to follow soon).  It's a feminine colour but has an element of cool to it, it's cute but not sickly!Why not brighten up your Friday night outfit with a bit of Coral? 

These shoes will brighten up a LBD, and give it a great spring feel.  Add a little coral belt too, to bring the look together.
