Trend: The Peplum

The peplum shape was big with celebrites last year, but now it's hit the high street!

The peplum is essentially a bit of extra material around the hips! It creates a very lady-like look and has a feel of old school glam about it. It's not for everyone, as it adds volume to the hips - and although this makes your waist look smaller, it's not great if you're already sensitive about that area!

Make up your own mind: They're all over the high street and would be great for an event, big night out or posh dinner date....

Print peplum dress, Miss Selfridge £49
Black peplum skirt, River Island £20
Pink peplum dress, Miss Selfridge £42

Beige peplum dress, Oasis £65

Coral peplum dress, Dorothy Perkins £15 *Sale
Blue peplum skirt, Oasis £48
Beige peplum skirt, Warehouse £45

Trend piece: The Amazing Blazer

Blazers just got cool!

Ditch that worn out black cardi that you sling over everything and move onto a sheek on-trend blazer.  Effortlessly cool, blazers are a great way to layer up an exsisting outfit and make it current.

The great thing is, as blazers are in, they're in florals, bright colours and pastels! No more black office blazer! Add to Jeans and a T for a bit of fashionista at the weekend, or add to a dress for a smart but cool vibe.

Left and centre, Brights at H&M
Right, Tuxedo style at Dorothy Perkins
Go for a smart Tuxedo style jacket with prominant lapels for an outfit that will really wow.

Smart blazers from Zara

Roll the sleeves for a more day-causal look (under the elbow though - anything more would bit ambitious!)
Florals at Marks and Spencer

Always try on a few different styles, different cuts will flatter different shapes, which can really make a difference!

Happy blazer shopping!

Colour Trend: Ice Cream Sundae

This spring, pastel 'Ice Cream' shades are a big trend.

Most of the colours you probably won't have worn since you were crawling around, but worn in the right way, pastel shades can look amazing!  Use all pastels to create a sheek lady like look, or add one pastel to a white outfit for a crisp clean spring feel.  Avoid one pastel piece with all black - leave that look in the 90's!
