Trend: The New Neons

Neons - scary and a bit 90's? Not any more! Meet the New Neons...

Forget glow stick green, prison uniform orange and saftey vest yellow, the new neons have the punch of bright but with a little bit of pretty added in.

Oranges are more coral, green is softer and putrid pink is more of a pastel - you get the idea.  The neons have been made a bit more feminine.

Trend: Sports Lux

The country is buzzing with Olympic news and images of the athletes, and with Stella McCartney designing the Team GB kit, it's only right that fashion and sports collide to make a trend - Sports Lux is born.

This trend is sportswear mixed with body con pieces, with some pastels, some metallics and a dash of neon.  Also expect to see cut out and mesh detailing.  It's a real mix with a sporty look, but stlyed right can look amazing! In my opinion Sports lux needs to be worn head to toe to work, so if you're going to wear it you really have to go for it!

Trend: The Peplum

The peplum shape was big with celebrites last year, but now it's hit the high street!

The peplum is essentially a bit of extra material around the hips! It creates a very lady-like look and has a feel of old school glam about it. It's not for everyone, as it adds volume to the hips - and although this makes your waist look smaller, it's not great if you're already sensitive about that area!

Make up your own mind: They're all over the high street and would be great for an event, big night out or posh dinner date....

Black peplum skirt, River Island £20

How to wear: Fantastic Florals!

Florals are a great trend, and they're easy to wear at the moment as there's so much variation out there.  But when it comes to mixing floral prints it can be a bit daunting! But to be honest, clashing prints or choosing complimentary prints - it all works, it's all down to your preference.

Here's some outfit ideas (all high street of course!):

Trend piece: The Amazing Blazer

Blazers just got cool!

Ditch that worn out black cardi that you sling over everything and move onto a sheek on-trend blazer.  Effortlessly cool, blazers are a great way to layer up an exsisting outfit and make it current.

The great thing is, as blazers are in, they're in florals, bright colours and pastels! No more black office blazer! Add to Jeans and a T for a bit of fashionista at the weekend, or add to a dress for a smart but cool vibe.

Left and centre, Brights at H&M
Right, Tuxedo style at Dorothy Perkins
Go for a smart Tuxedo style jacket with prominant lapels for an outfit that will really wow.

Roll the sleeves for a more day-causal look (under the elbow though - anything more would bit ambitious!)

Always try on a few different styles, different cuts will flatter different shapes, which can really make a difference!

Happy blazer shopping!

Colour Trend: Ice Cream Sundae

This spring, pastel 'Ice Cream' shades are a big trend.

Most of the colours you probably won't have worn since you were crawling around, but worn in the right way, pastel shades can look amazing!  Use all pastels to create a sheek lady like look, or add one pastel to a white outfit for a crisp clean spring feel.  Avoid one pastel piece with all black - leave that look in the 90's!

Trend: Fantastic Florals

Floral prints are a massive trend this Spring.  Printed trousers, shirts, blazers, dresses...you name it you can get it in floral.  Florals were quite big last year so if you have any - get them back out!

This time around mixing different floral prints is huge.  Think floral top and different floral printed trousers, or floral blazer with different floral dress.  Daring mixes like this are usually something only seen on the catwalk, but it's on the high street and looks great!

Colour Trend: Hello Green, where have you been?

Bold green is coming back!  H&M did a bold green/orange instore story at the start of Spring.  Now green seems to be popping up everywear.  Rich strong emerald and cool minty tones can be seen throughout the high st.  Bags and shoes especially seem to be flashing the green.

It's a nice break from the tones of purples that have been around for ages. It's bold and feels great for spring.  Although purple is looking likely to come back for Autumn,  as Chanel and Chrsitopher Kane both featured it in their AW12 shows.

Green goes with most colours and is great to add to an exsisting outfit to freshen it up.
